Our focus for 2019
Almost every January we like to re-imagine our website. Both in terms of content and design. We start by looking at what works on the current site, and what is no longer relevant to us as a business going forward. This year was a little different, as we also took the decision to rebrand. The rebrand for us was an evolution, rather than a rebirth. We merely want to provide clarity from the outset as to what the company was all about. With that in mind, we decide to add a little simplification. We took out the Built With Logic and our B icon and we simplified to BWL | Digital.
In the past, we'd had comments like are you, architects? We'd always reply yes, digital architects, but it never sat well that we needed to explain that part and wanted the emphasis to sit with digital. Incorporating that into the brand made sense. Once that was done, we looked at the content and married it up to the analytics, any non-performing pages were dropped any rarely visited content removed. Why? Well, we're a dedicated team of digital practitioners, developers, digital architects, designers, content generators and planners who are focused on providing a high level of service to our clients. Maintaining content that's no longer relevant is not really the best use of our time or yours.
Once we'd taken care of the content, we then looked at the old website design, and while the site had clearly been inviting enough to win us many new clients in 2018, it was less focused. It was extremely visual, high impact imagery throughout. The latter probably explaining the comments like oh you're a design agency that makes websites. Granted we do create websites, from our humble offices in Winchester. But that's only part of what we do. We've created event booking systems, online payment processing, iOS and Android applications and that's just in 2018. Simply saying we design websites doesn't do us justice.
We also refocused the messaging, chopping through the waffle to focus on 3 key areas Digital Transformation, Customer Acquisition and Website & Application development. That focused messaging will continue to grow in 2019 as we add more relevant content, to support start-up businesses in the south of the UK and existing businesses internationally.
One thing is certain, this is only the start of the rebrand, the new site is live and the content has been streamlined. We hope you enjoy reviewing it and we look forward to working with you in 2019 and beyond.
